Crop an image
Drag a box over the picture or type the exact left, top, width and height in pixels. Lock a ratio for avatars, covers or video thumbnails. Saved as PNG, the cut-out is copied pixel for pixel; as JPEG or WebP it is saved again at the quality you choose. The whole job runs in your browser on your own device.

How it works
- Choose or drop an image. It appears with a crop box around the whole picture, or, with a ratio chosen, around the largest box of that ratio, centred.
- Move or resize the box, draw a new one, or type the pixel values. Pick an aspect ratio if you need one.
- Press Crop image and download the result.
Questions
How exact is the crop?
Exact to the pixel. The number fields show the selected area in image pixels, and the output has exactly that width and height. Dragging on the preview rounds to whole pixels of the original image, not of the scaled preview.
Does cropping change the quality?
Cropping itself changes no pixel inside the box. PNG output is lossless. JPEG and WebP output is re-encoded at the quality you choose, so pick PNG or a high quality when quality matters. Saving as the same format as the original keeps PNG as PNG and JPEG as JPEG; GIF and BMP become PNG.
What do the aspect ratios do?
With a ratio locked, the box takes that shape around its own centre, as wide as it was where the picture has room, and resizing keeps the shape: 1:1 for profile pictures, 16:9 for video thumbnails, 9:16 for stories, or the image's own ratio. A ratio chosen before the picture, or set by a link, gives the picture the largest box of that ratio, centred. Free lets you pick any rectangle, and Select the whole image takes all of the picture and sets the ratio back to Free.
What does Start again do?
It clears the picture and puts every setting back as the page opened: the ratio, the format, the quality and the background. Settings a link to this page set are kept, because the page opened with them.
Can I use it without a mouse?
Yes. The Left, Top, Width and Height fields accept typed values and arrow keys, and Select the whole image takes all of the picture. A value outside the picture is clamped as you type, and when you leave the field (Tab or Enter) it shows the value that will actually be used. The preview is decorative for screen readers; the fields hold the real state.
Are there size limits?
Images wider or taller than 16,384 pixels are refused with a message: that is this tool's limit. Animated GIFs and WebPs are cropped from their first frame only. Metadata such as EXIF and GPS location is not copied to the result. WebP output is not available in browsers that cannot write WebP (older Safari); the option is then disabled.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The page loads a small script into your browser and every operation runs on your device. You can check this yourself in the browser's network panel: after the page has loaded there are no upload requests. Closing the tab discards the file.
Do I need an account or to pay?
No. These basic tools are free and store nothing on our servers. The only limits are the tool's own: images up to 16384 pixels on a side. Within them, the practical limit is your device's memory.
What does this page keep in my browser?
Nothing you open or type. While the tab is open, the tool pages keep a short list of the steps taken in it, in the tab's session storage: the step (page opened, started, succeeded, first success, used again or failed), the tool's name, the time, how many files were used and, for a failure, an error code; never a file name, the contents of a file or your text. It holds at most the latest 200 steps, and the browser deletes it when the tab closes. The page never sends it. Where a Report a problem button is shown, you can attach the last 20 steps to your report; nothing is attached unless you tick that box. In local storage the page keeps only choices you made: a Light or Dark theme until you choose System again, the language you picked with the EN / 中文 switch if it differs from your browser's language, and this tool in your recently used list if you switched that list on at the tools page.
